After Christmas

I stepped on the scale this morning, (I know, I know, should never have done that!) and noted that I am back up to 79 Kg. Thats a 2 Kg gain from what I lost over the summer. Bummer. So, I went to the gym today and had a great workout. Gave myself a reward and spent some time in the sauna too. I'm going to revisit my eating plan and refresh my memory on what the food breakout is. The calorie count has been engraved on my mind, only 1400 per day for someone my age, height, sex and activity level. So to get the proper nutrition, I need to pay really close attention to the food breakdown, veg, fruit, grains and protein. So, I ramp up this week and then look for a goal weight loss of 1 -2 lbs per week, 6 - 8 per month. See, I've said it out loud so now I have to do it. Sigh.

Before Christmas

Is it just me or is it really hard to get to the gym this time of year. I worked out at home Monday cause I had plans that were up in the air. Tomorrow is Randy's birthday so again, due to things I have to do, I'll work out at home again. I invited the whole family over for cake and ice cream. I have to make the cake in the morning, clean up the house, get some groceries, etc. So, the treadmill it is. I'll try and do better after Christmas.

Mid December Report

Wow, already Dec 13th! Randy and I and my mom took a bus trip to New York City on Saturday. I wore my light hiking boots all day. We had a great time even tho it was kind of cold. I noticed on Sunday and Monday my feet were relatively free of pain. Is it possible the wearing of my hiking boots (with the orthotic inserts of course) are the cause of this? I generally wear sneakers with the inserts and around the house, a pair of birkenstock sandals. I may have to reconsider and wear the boots all the time. It would be great if I could get the tendonitis completely healed. I'm still teaching the Hiking Project for the local 4H club. It would be great if I could actually go hiking come spring.

I continue to go to the gym 3 times a week. I'm not expecting any weight loss this month. It's just too hard in December with the holidays but I hope to maintain. If I can get my feet to be relatively pain free, I would be even more motivated to get into shape.
